- Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Latvia
About the project
The current wave of millions of refugees from Ukraine poses great challenges, especially for the Baltic Sea countries. However, it should be seen not only as a problem, but above all - as an opportunity. Due to demographic changes, all Baltic Sea countries are experiencing a huge shortage of skilled workers in almost all sectors. Successful integration of refugees into the labor market will not only ease the burden of the social system, but also restore dignity and perspective to people. Effective integration of refugees and immigrants makes society more resilient to future challenges, which is why it is particularly important. Integrating regions become more resilient by bringing in skilled workers (for more information on the resilience economy and immigration, see links:
Three tools will be created during the implementation of the project:
- Network of integration of refugees into labor markets.
- Strengthening the institutional capacity of business-supporting organizations by raising the qualifications of employees.
- Creation of the application and its transfer to other countries of the Baltic Sea region.
