Follow up after Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts’ Business Mission to Egypt

On March 4-10 Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts organized a Lithuanian business mission to Egypt. Eight SMEs from the education, consulting and training, IT, packaging, food industry, transport and logistics sectors joined. Meetings with Egyptian entrepreneurs in Cairo, Ismailia, and Alexandria revealed a significant interest among Egyptians in European markets. Meanwhile, Lithuanian entrepreneurs were interested in Egypt's giant projects, strategic location, qualified workforce (more than half of the population is under 30), and connections with other African countries. Egypt has a population of more than 100 million people.

"During the mission we had the opportunity to visit various government institutions, listen to presentations and introduce ourselves, exchange contacts. We are hoping that this business mission will become a gateway to an undiscovered market," shared her impressions Edita Novoslavska, Product Group Manager at UAB "Amber Paper".

While visiting Alexandria Business Association, INTRA VIRES, UAB, represented by company CEO Jurga Rimke, signed a trilateral cooperation agreement with partners in Egypt: Conseil Consulting, represented by Dina Yacout, CMKtr, MCIM, and “BENEFIT Marketing Agency”, represented by Nagla Akl. Such agreements open new opportunities for business between Lithuania and Egypt.

Business cooperation is actively supported by business associations in both countries, including Vilniaus prekybos, pramonės ir amatų rūmai (Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts), Lietuvos verslo moterų tinklas, the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, the FEDCOC Business Women Council, and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Cairo.

We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the success of this mission - the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Cairo, the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, the Business Women Council of Egypt, the Lithuanian Business Women Network, the Lithuanian Business Delegation: VU Business School, UAB Intra Vires, HAI Institute UAB, UAB Inta, UAB Amber Paper, UAB Grainmore, UAB Armo, UAB Miniskipas.

The business mission to Egypt was organized as a part of the "Export Development" project, co-financed by the European Union Structural Funds, No. 03.2.1-LVPA-K-801-06-0007.
