Prosper BSR project was presented at Land a Job in Vilnius 3.0, a career fair for international talents

Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts currently implements the project Prosper BSR that empowers business support organizations to integrate refugees and immigrants into labour markets and ensure access to skilled workforce at the same time.

On April 18th International House Vilnius organized a career fair for international talents "Land a Job in Vilnius". The event perfectly matched Prosper BSR goals, so Vilnius Chamber joined the event as a partner and encouraged the potential employers - Chamber members to participate. Almost 300 attendees – job seekers from relocated highly qualified professionals to international students and 27 companies from various business sectors checked-in at the event.

“The event not only facilitated matches between companies and candidates but also fostered networking among participants. We believe that Vilnius needs more events that cater to the international community, and International House Vilnius is committed to providing them”, - Head of International House Vilnius Agne Camara said.

Audrone Masandukaite, Prosper BSR project manager at Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts noted “This initiative perfectly matched the project goals and the Chamber members were eager to participate and look for potential employees. To continue a nice cooperation that started during “Land a Job in Vilnius” event, an MOU partnership agreement is foreseen to be signed by Vilnius Chamber and International House Vilnius”.

"Land a Job in Vilnius was a great event. The number of experienced people we met was surprising. There were not only students who were looking for work, but surprisingly many highly qualified candidates. We had from 15 to 20 meetings with potential employees and selected 3 professionals who will be invited to further interviews," - Dr. Vyda Mozūriūnienė, Managing Director of Comfort Heat shared her insights after the event.

Each applicant had a chance to participate in the interview with the company according to his/hers preferences in a job dating scenario, one of the activities held during the fair.

“This week we attended the "Land a Job in Vilnius 3.0" event and were pleasantly surprised. The search for employees or rather young talents took place in a completely different format: it was informal, interesting, playful. We had the opportunity to talk to many highly motivated foreign young people whose education and skills are suitable for working in a company that operates in international markets. We really hope that after processing all gathered information, we will be able to select and invite a new international employee to our team”, - Edita Novoslavska, Amber Paper Product Group Manager also shared her impressions.

“Internationally acclaimed businesses were extremely welcoming us at the event, and they were more concerned in integrating foreigners into their community rather than marketing their own brand. We were also offering to help us learning Lithuanian and prevent discrimination”, - two Ukrainian contestants Yana Maslova and Olena Ohienko remarked. Along with Ukrainians, many overseas applicants attended the event.

A kind reminder to potential employers, International House Vilnius is available to assist in the employment of foreign professionals, free of charge. They have a dedicated service that provides consultation to employers on topics such as employing foreigners. A meeting with Employment Service specialist can be scheduled here: https://ihvilnius.lt/schedule-a-meeting.
